Arconic is currently in search of a Human Resources Generalist to join our Global Rolled Product (GRP) Operations business unit in Lancaster, PA.  Located in South Central Pennsylvania, Lancaster offers a vibrant arts and entertainment community with wonderful historic sites, B&Bs, museums, world class shopping, entertainment venues and restaurants

Lancaster Works specializes in aluminum sheet and cast plate. At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we offer a variety of products--from painted sheet to blanked products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware and construction materials. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components. Another capability, for which we are well known, is the production of machined cast plate used in a number of diverse products, ranging from robotics to medical instruments.
The HR Generalist is an integral member of the Human Resources team and is responsible for supporting implementation of the Lancaster people plan through location initiatives, processes and projects and in support of the HR team.  This person will work directly with the HR Team, employees and leaders across Lancaster.   He/She will be responsible for various people metrics, as well as being actively engaged in plant activities that support the effective facilitation of processes related to his/her key accountabilities.
The HR Generalist shall endeavor to remain generally abreast of local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations and statutes governing equal employment opportunity practices as well as Arconic corporate and local policies and practices.
The HR Generalist will provide back up support to other members of the HR team to ensure consistent coverage is provided at all times.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Efficiently and accurately completes weekly payroll for non-exempt, hourly employees. 
  • Provide HR generalist support to the plant maintenance teams including recruitment, providing timely communications, counsel, coaching and be the designated HR contact for maintaining positive employee relations. 
  • Responsible for and/or facilitates plant wide programs and processes including but not limited to:
    • Affirmative Action Plan
    • Internal audit compliance
    • Hourly Job Evaluation process
    • FMLA/STD process
    • Interactive Reasonable Accommodation process
  • Facilitates recruitment and on-boarding of production new hires and delivery of New Employee Orientation for HR topics
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; with excellent time and project management skills 
  • Strong data accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to learn and utilize HRIS systems


  • Associates degree in Business Management, Psychology or Human Resources from an accredited institution. 
  • At least one year of professional work experience in payroll administration, Accounts Payable, Finance or office management
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Psychology or other relevant degree from an accredited institution.  
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with payroll and benefits administration
  • Previous experience utilizing various payroll software programs
  • Previous experience with project responsibility across multiple groups or departments
