Job Description

HR Generalist is responsible for aligning people and business objectives within the Arconic's Corporate Resource Units for Arconic Technology Center, Legal and EHS. Provide HR support by translating business strategies into actions that drives business results. Will work with employees and functional areas providing consultancy and ensuring execution of HR processes. These include: talent management, retention, compensation and benefits, organizational development, employee relations, training and development, recruitment and selection, succession planning, diversity program and others. The HR Generalist will act as an advocate for positive employee relations while acting in the company’s best interests.
 
  • Liaise with recruiting, shared services, compensation & benefits, and talent management leaders on various HR processes.
  • Improve HR practices and processes continually, leveraging information systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with leadership to make relevant modifications to new or existing policies and procedures via creation, documentation and maintenance of standard policies.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.  Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Partner with HR and functional managers to enhance an environment in which employees are actively engaged in helping to improve the business.
  • Assist with investigations of alleged discrimination and ethics violations as needed; recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Actively engage as a change agent in support of business priorities to build high performing, effective teams.
  • Assist Global Mobility initiative for ATC, Legal and EHS Resource Units.
  • AAP Creation - review of reports and submission of required documentation to Human Resource Specialties (HRS). 
  • Reporting - pulling and distribution of monthly reports for HR and as required by other departments/partners.
  • Support the Internship Program, includes offer letters, tracking, on-boarding, exits and directions during internship.
  • Assist employees and retirees in obtaining information, problem solving and facilitates the appropriate application of benefits.
  • Establishes, maintains and monitors files and cases for Short and Long Term Disability.
  • Administers the locations Workers' Compensation Program.  Investigates and verifies claims, handles procedural problems, counsels employees and management and assist in final decisions.
  • Acts as the site's recruiting SPA.  Posts open positions, monitor and track for approvals, enter offer letters and initiate background checks, physical / drug screens, and relocation authorization forms.  Track on-boarding activities and provides first day instructions to new hires and supervisors.
  • Responsible for site outreach and documentation of outreach efforts conducted by the site.
  • Establish Visa eligibility.  Submit required documentation to begin immigration process and monitor thru completion of status.
  • Site Security Administrator for GPS 2.0.
  • Acts as the site's Temporary Staffing Administrator.  Enters requests, aids with problem solving issues with agencies and temporary help, and monitors end dates of assignments.
  • Maintains and prepares the master files for layoff / retirement paperwork.  Assist HR Director and HR Manager with exit interviews.  Submit required documentation for outplacement services.  Provide assistance to those laid off to answer questions thru the process.
  • Collects and inputs salary and organizational changes.
  • Responsible for reports as needed for HR and various departments within ATC.
  • Responsible for completion of HR ASATs.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the site Regulatory Compliance Bulletin Boards.
  • Act as back-up to the site's reward and recognition program, iRewards.  This includes processing of imputed income.
  • Responsible for file maintenance and off-site document storage.  Ensure compliance with retention schedules.
  • Responsible for completion and maintaining of I-9s in compliance with retention schedules.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Human Resources
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
  • Ability to maintain confidentially
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
  • Experience with Oracle
