Job Description

Arconic Engines (AEN) is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next-generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.  AEN is a business unit of Arconic (NYSE: ARNC).
 
Arconic Hampton is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist who has demonstrated the ability to achieve results in several key HR functions and has a passion to put that experience to work and have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities.  The successful candidate will partner with the Site HR Manager and leadership team in translating business strategy into HR actions that drive business results.  The Generalist responsibilities will require the application of broad knowledge of HR and hands-on expertise with demonstrated results in several of the following functions/HR processes:
  • Develop and implement tactics to execute HR strategies that achieve the overall business goals
  • Positive employee relations- build and enhance an environment in which employees are actively and willingly engaged in helping improve the business
  • Maintain labor relations through contract negotiations, grievance/dispute resolutions to find win-win resolutions, manage grievances, and assist with arbitration cases.
  • Strategic staffing/recruitment/talent management/new employee orientation
  • Performance management and compensation training and development/coaching
  • Change management/continuous improvement/ organizational effectiveness/ organizational development
  • Effective communications skills to reach all levels of the organization, including presentations at plant meetings, HR posting, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Leads Employee Engagement activities throughout the year
  • Manages performance reviews/succession planning/strengths-based initiatives
  • Manages compliance and compliance trainings and maintains training records.
  • Handles employee and/or Management trainings on HR initiatives throughout the year


Qualifications

 
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience
  •  This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM SCP or PHR/SPHR Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience in an organized (Union) environment

  • Ability to lead training sessions
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data, ability to work well with all levels of the organization and strong team building skills.
  • Manufacturing environment experience or large facility/company background
  • Experienced in labor relations; grievance/dispute resolution, CBA administration
  • Experience staffing and recruiting 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR, or Technical Field from an accredited institution
