Key Responsibilities:
  • Works under general supervision of supervisor and/or department lead
  • Able to work as a subject matter expert in department and have knowledge of all basic Heat Treat functions
  • Able to work as a subject matter expert in identifying material samples, lots of fasteners, or tooling to be heat treated and obtains specifications for treatment required by reviewing materials and documents
  • Under direction of department lead segregates orders and materials samples according to specified heat treat temperature, and places fasteners and samples into charge baskets and trays, organizing each charge for most efficient use of furnace
  • Must have broad knowledge of setting furnace controls to assure specified temperature and records settings on chart and/or production log
  • Able to verify proper operation of furnace by observing pyrometer and other instruments on furnace; and adjust controls as required
  • Able to perform routine maintenance of heat treat equipment
  • Able to meet productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner; strives to increase productivity
  • Perform work of equal or lesser skill level
  • Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as scheduled


Basic Qualifications:
  • Highschool diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 4 years progressive machine shop experience required
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fastener Industry knowledge preferred
