Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking an EHS, Engineer at our aerospace manufacturing facility in Carson, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Requirements.
  • Supports location EHS Manager in the overall process implementation oversight.
  • Supports development and implementation of the H&S management system.
  • Writes procedures, administers requirements, and conducts recordkeeping.
  • Investigates all H&S incidents.
  • Coordinate the development of systems to ensure incidents/quarterly metrics are kept per guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all H&S regularity requirements and per company standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of H&S Management Systems.
  • Provide oversight for effective H&S ASAT performance and ASP input.
  • Provides direction and oversight for the respective H&S Single Point Accountable (SPA’S)
  • Coordinate H&S training programs and provides training for employees as needed.
  • Establishes permanent H&S files for all units under their control. These files must follow company policies and procedures for records administration and retention.
  • Participate in investigation teams as required to assure prompt, thorough incident review and makes appropriate corrective action recommendations.
  • Participates in continuing professional education. This means staying current and competent in the respective H&S profession through seminars, courses, literature review, etc.
  • Prepares and submits reports and other required submittals as assigned to company and all local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and participate on EHS Council & Committee activities.
 
Additional Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general OSHA Regulations


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Occupational Health & Safety
  • 3 or more years of experience in the field of health and safety
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment. eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of experience in the field of health and safety
