Job Description

The Health & Safety Coordinator manages the site's EHS information systems, to provide highly effective and efficient tools and customer support to enable site wide compliance and EHS performance, as well as manage department level procurement and accounting functions to assure purchasing needs and financial targets are met.

Major Activities / Key Challenges:
  • Manages the site's electronic EHS Management System platforms - incident, observation, SDS, IH, training, PEHSR
  • Generates, monitors, analyzes and communicates leading and lagging indicator metrics
  • Manages site Field Observation program and Field Observation Coordinators
  • Leads the EHS training coordination and implementation, coordinates use of learning management system for EHS; updates and conducts H&S and new employee trainings
  • Sets up and manages H&S vendor relationships in support of accurate forecasting; executes monthly accrual process
  • Assists with incident investigations to ensure completeness and accuracy, develop and track corrective actions
  • Manages and executes the monthly chargeback process for EHS-related intra-department chargebacks
  • Assist with coordination of Return-to-Work and Restricted Duty program when site RN is not available
  • Leads continious EHS ASAT (Arconic Self Assessment Tool) process, guides program owners, performs self-assessment activities, tracks self assess findings and corrective actions
  • Acts as change agent, lead multi-disciplinary teams to implement process improvements and prevent injuries
  • Works with site's management team to reduce risk of incident and injury
  • Supports implementation of Human Performance systems
  • Supports injury and illness prevention program
  • Conducts industrial hygiene monitors and analysis results, manage IH equipment calibration program
  • Conducts weekly site health and safety walk through across site
  • Assists with development, implementation and update of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
Essential Knowledge & Skills / Education:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write reports, business correspondence and programs / procedures
  • Ability to conduct training sessions for all levels
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • High learning agility, initative, self-motivation

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Science, Industrial Hygiene, Biology, Chemistry or Public Health from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 6 months project or internship experience utilizing PowerPoint or Excel
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Minimum 3 months Co op or internship experience in Environmental Health and Safety
