Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
This opening is in our Kawneer Harrisonburg Front End facility located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. 

This position is designed to apply essential knowledge of Kawneer door and door hardware applications to provide a focused, efficient, expert service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review door hardware application at any stage of project (estimating, order entry, production).
  • Provide exceptional service through interacting effectively and timely with internal and external customers, in determining door and door hardware application.
  • Familiar with architectural plans and shop drawings/installation instructions as required for each project application, including reviewing/correcting door and door hardware information on shop drawings.
  • Interact and coordinate with door hardware suppliers including securing outside hardware pricing.
  • Familiar with and maintaining knowledge of all Kawneer products, specifically those that interact with doors and door hardware.
  • Maintain and update door hardware application/compatibility databases.
  • Assist Customer Sales Department with orders.

  • Ability to understand building codes, standards, hurricane impact, blast and keep up with updates as it relates to doors and door hardware.
  • Read and interpret architectural plans and installation instructions.


Basic Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in Kawneer Estimating or Door Take-off or equivalent experience with another commercial door and door hardware supplier
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or Four year College Degree or 3 years industry experience in commercial doors and door hardware.
  • Knowledge of Kawneer products, especially doors and hardware.
