Accountability Objectives

This senior management position will be responsible for transforming the independent forecasting, order and inventory management, production planning, overall conversion cost allocation efficiency, warehouse, and transportation operations, into a single integrated world-class Sales and Operations Planning organization (based on Oliver Wight model). Position will develop and execute a vision that delivers operational excellence, resulting in world class customer service and efficiency.

The incumbent will integrate the separate existing forecasting, metal procurement and inventory optimization, order management, production planning, warehouse, and transportation processes and associates into a single supply chain.

The major responsibilities of this role are to:
  • Define, design and implement supply chain tools necessary to support a word-class supply chain based on a fully implemented sales and operations planning structure.
  • Build a world-class supply chain organization through identifying, coaching and mentoring supply chain professionals and operations leaders as part of an overall talent management effort to recruit, retain, and engage top talent.
  • Perform strategic capacity (including third party providers) versus requirements studies to ensure efficient and effective deployment/utilization of resources to meet demand while optimizing conversion costs and inventory turns.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement processes that ensures supply chain maintains world-class status.

In addition to tracking and communicating progress, the incumbent will establish short-term and long-term objectives for the supply-chain organization to meet or exceed its business objectives through world-class customer service and efficiency.


This position will report directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, with whom s/he will establish and be held accountable for efficiency, reliability and responsiveness targets.

This position will interact with external customers in effort to establish an integrated collaborative supply chain. Examples include but are not : Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Dana, etc.

This position will interact with the following internal partners:
  • Manufacturing leadership and facilities to ensure plan compliance, effective headcount planning, alignment with production capabilities, Inventory levels and improvements in efficiency, reliability, and responsiveness.
  • Sales and Marketing to ensure supply chain’s effectiveness in meeting market requirements, building customer relationships, and managing customer expectations.
  • Information Systems in the definition, design, budgeting, and implementation of tools necessary to support world-class supply chain processes.
  • Finance in developing and tracking cash-flow, operating expenses, and capital budgets.
  • External service providers, such as outsourced providers of overflow capacity, to improve operation efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Dimensions:

The successful candidate will create global supply chain systems that establish organizational effectiveness, defined processes, data integrity, and effective information systems. Position must transform and develop existing order management, production planning, warehouse, and transportation associates into a single integrated organization creating synergies across multi-site locations. Position will need to establish world-class supply chain processes, along with metrics necessary to track supply chain effectiveness, efficiency, and opportunities. This key leader will develop a strategic sourcing processes to leverage capacity and improve reaction time to market disruptions.

With the support of the information systems organization, this position will be required to define, design, and lead the implementation of tools (S&OP and RCCP) necessary to support the newly established supply chain organization and processes.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in manufacturing processes
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or Master's of Business Administration
  • Successful track record of being able to establish supply chain strategy and translate the strategy into activities that will reduce manufacturing costs and drive gross margin improvements
