Primary Purpose of the Job: The Functional Analyst – Financial Applications role within Financial Planning & Analysis supports our global finance organization and helps manage systems, tools, and processes used across Arconic to input, report, and analyze our actual financial results and forecast estimates.  
 
Functional administration of our Global Planning, GL Hist, and Global Budgeting Hyperion/Essbase applications
 
 
Major Activities / Key Challenges:
 
  • Support our monthly closing and forecasting process within our Hyperion applications.
  • Perform any necessary data reconciliations to ensure integrity of the information in these applications.
  • Become a subject matter expert on our query and reporting tool (Oracle Smart View) and assist the global finance organization through training and sharing of best practices.
  • Support and enhance various Excel templates and reporting tools used by FP&A.
  • Provide functional assistance/guidance to the Arconic global finance community regarding use of these forecasting and reporting tools.
  • Analyze the monthly chart-of-account changes and make any necessary updates to support the business organization.
  • Maintain portal and SharePoint sites used by FP&A.
  • Troubleshoot issues to root cause and implement process improvements to ensure a more robust environment.
  • Work closely with Arconic's GIS organization in support of these applications including evaluating, testing, and deploying enhancements and updates to our application software.
  • Ensure appropriate support processes, standard operating procedures, and Arconic compliance guidelines are adhered to.
  • Assist in coordinating Arconic's planning and budgeting processes.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Business Group/Business Unit personnel responsible for other financial Hyperion applications.
  • Deliver other special projects and assignments as necessary.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a financial reporting or related discipline.
  • Must have prior systems experience supporting finance/accounting or similar complex applications.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
  • Prior Hyperion Planning or Hyperion Essbase experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience managing small-scale projects and coordinating multiple initiatives at the same time.
