Position Description Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking a skilled machinist.

Sets up and operates two multi-station nut formers to produce parts consistent with print specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently operates and makes complete set ups on National and Waterbury-Ferral Nut Formers producing parts to close tolerance as specified by work orders, nutformer parts prints and machine layouts
  • Selects, mounts, and adjusts proper punches and die sets
  • Assembles dies and punches using Hydraulic press
  • Sets machine speeds, feeds and stops
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of metal flow capabilities of various metals to operate machines and produce parts, avoiding fractures and folds in the finished product.
  • Checks parts with standard gauges or precision measuring instruments and submits parts for “first article” inspection as required.                                                                 
  • Utilizes knowledge of metal flow capabilities of various metals to operate machines and produce parts consistent with print specifications.                                
  • Recognizes improper machine functioning and/or tooling problems and takes corrective action.


Basic Qualifications Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
