Job Description


  • Essential Functions: In this hands-on role, you will be heavily involved in various maintenance projects that will be focused on improving our processes (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and maintaining the facilities and grounds. The successful candidate must have proven track record in managing, designing, installing and commissioning CAPEX investments and bringing them in at or below budget & on time. In addition, you would be responsible for supporting numerous EHS and continuous improvement projects along with overseeing contractors in maintaining our facilities.
     
    This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks:
     
    • Executes the plant maintenance program for assigned shift based on best practices in the forging industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling, FMEA, RCFA, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
    • Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary; ensures that maintainers follow purchasing procedures and coordinates material requirements to support ongoing and future maintenance actions.
    • Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment; informs Maintenance and Facilities Manager of asset status to assure Departmental Capability is known at all times.
    • Responsible for maintaining a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment. Trains subordinates in the effective use of the system and ensures workers use the system for tracking work orders, PM’s and hours of work.
    • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant
    • Operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
    • Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
    • Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department and assists in the development of procedures where gaps exist.
    • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipates and solves problems proactively in a timely manner, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
    • Assists Facilities and Maintenance Manager in coordinating the day to day actions required to carry out project implementations that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
    • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc for assigned shift.
    • Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
    • Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are always met.
    • Develops project listing for assigned area, prepares project scoping document, oversees / completes design elements, and executes capex projects.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned

    • Microsoft Office Suite — The ability to understand, navigate, manipulate and create, Excel, Word, PowerPoint documents as well as the Outlook platform.
    • Mathematical Skills — Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Interpret graphs and analyze temperature data.

    Qualifications

    • Basic Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation Engineering from an accredited institution OR 5 years of proven experience working with industrial automation, industrial controls or PLC.
      • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
      • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • 3+ years of Experience in Facilities Engineering role in a large industrial manufacturing facility.
      • Capital Project Management experience.
      • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor3D, or Solid Works software.
      • Reliability centered maintenance experience
      • Experience with RS Logix 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio (ME & SE), IFix, GE Historian
