Arconic is currently in search of an Extrusion and Finishing Systems Manager to join our Transportation and Construction business unit in Springdale, AR.

The Extrusion and Finishing Systems Manager will report to the Operations Manager.
The primary purpose of this position is to Implement and drive excellence in the extrusion and finishing operations for the location; examples include but are not limited to:
  • Ensures a culture is in place that puts the safety and welfare of our employees ahead of all other goals;
  • Facilitates successful kaizen, problem-solving and rapid improvement process events with both internal and external consultants, customers and suppliers, with a major emphasis on locally focused improvement.  Provides the support for all follow-throughs required to sustain the improvements established during the events;
  • Lead Operational Excellence using continuous improvement principles, tools, methods, and techniques, in direct support of achieving business goals, improved performance, and decreased cost;
  • Define the current condition of the process to identify opportunities and create a target condition, with action plans to improve operational and financial results;
  • Identify, assess, facilitate, design, and coach implementation of continuous improvement methods, techniques, and procedures, including daily management, problem-solving, TPM, 5S, visual management, work design, and A3 improvement plans.  Use these tools to lead and facilitate continuous improvement;
  • Lead the integration and utilization of operational technology and smart manufacturing initiatives such as historians, SCADA, manufacturing execution systems, and data analytics;
  • Lead and coach others in determining specific measures of performance and productivity improvements.  Provide training and consultative assistance for all levels of the organization;
  • Use the best practice assessments to help identify and implement improvement opportunities and to assure compliance with corporate expectations;
  • Maintain, compile, analyze, and report metrics of improvement projects;
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards;
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide the highest level of technical expertise, consultation, and direction to process engineering and production team.   Drive implementation of standardized in-control and capable systems and processes.  Leverage best practice sharing across all operations;
  • Increase operational efficiency and quality by levering engineering, and continuous improvement to establish best in class operations systems, thereby improving business profitability.  Develop and deploy the roadmap of best practices across Extrusion, Paint, and Anodize locations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 1 year of complex project management;
  • Minimum of 3 years of aluminum processing/finishing technology experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of smart manufacturing systems and processes;
  • Intricate knowledge of Extrusion, Paint, and Anodize operations, systems, and processes;
  • Lean tools and processes.
