Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
 
We have an immediate opening for an Estimator Scheduler at our Kawneer Plant in Springdale, AR.  The Estimator Scheduler position is integral and vital to the Order Pursuit function in Springdale for the West and South Sales Regions.  The scheduler will evaluate all incoming quote requests, determine whether to bid the work, evaluate the time needed to estimate the proposal, and determine which estimator receives the quote to be processed in a timely manner.
 
Primary Purpose of the Job:
  • Understand Customer Pricing Request; plans and specifications, material lists, simple take-offs requiring application revisions
  • Selecting the proper documents/ materials for lead review
  • Creation of Electronic folders/ printouts for lead review
  • Maintain schedule and database through level loading
  • Assist lead in bid/no-bid selectivity
  • Confirm with customer and/or sales regarding scheduling of requests
  • Coordinate with Engineering department for schedule of engineering review
  • Coordination with other Kawneer facilities for package pricing for multiple products
  • Create estimates with KaluCAD
Major Activities/ Key Challenges:
  • Managing OTIF by understanding capacity and demand
  • Daily management of estimating requests

  • Manufacturing Managers/Supervisors/Leads


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of experience estimating construction projects using architectural drawings, plans and specifications
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in construction management from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years of experience with architectural systems products, external facades, or curtain wall
  • 2+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects
  • Experience with not only performing estimates but also scheduling/assigning work to other estimators
