Arconic is currently in search of an Environmental Engineer  to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in San Antonio, Texas.

Arconic creates breakthrough products that shape industries.  Working in close partnership with our customers, we solve complex engineering challenges to transform the way we fly, drive, build and power.  Our 360,000 square foot San Antonio facility sits on approximately 111 acres.  The location actively serves as a production facility supplying hot band coil stock to end customers and other Arconic locations.  Our breakthrough Arconic Micromill™ technology produces an alloy that is 40 percent more formable and 30 percent stronger than today’s automotive aluminum and twice as formable and at least 30 percent lighter than high-strength steel.

The Environmental Engineer at San Antonio Works, will provide leadership, planning, and ensure our commitment to environmental compliance by all plant employees.  IN this role, you will be accountable for compliance with various environmental medias including Air, Water, and Waste.   In addition, will also ensure that the plant maintains compliance with all requirements of its Title V permit, MACT, air related plans, report preparation, and submissions, training, and legal requirements.
Additionally, in this role, other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute management systems designed to ensure the plant is in compliance with all Arconic, Local, State, and Federal environmental regulations and that continual improvement, pollution prevention, and compliance are part of the facilities main goals.
  • Manage budgets, and provide technical direction to contractors, and external consultants.
  • Coordinate all Environmental testing and sampling
  • Interact with regulatory authorities, as required
  • Although this role works primarily a daytime shift Monday through Friday; it is an expectation they work off-shifts, as needed to support the functions of this role and will be expected to be on-call as a first-line help chain 24 hours per day, seven days per week.



Basic qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Environmental Science/Management
  • 2 years’ experience with Environmental compliance including several media's (Air, Water, Wastewater, Hazardous waste, etc.)
  • Project management experience in the environmental field
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to work with a team
  • Demonstrated ability to drive for change and for sustainable systems that promote continuous improvement
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing presentations to all levels of personnel
  • Experience with managing compliance at a Title V facility
  • Environmental compliance and managerial experience within a manufacturing and/or heavy industrial facility
  • Experience with ISO 14001
  • Working knowledge of Texas environmental regulations
  • Experience in pollution control technology, with special emphasis on emission control devices
  • P.E License, E.I.T or any other certifications
