Arconic’s Dover, NJ facility has an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer. Our passionate commitment to EHS provides the successful candidate with an excellent environment in which to work and the leadership commitment and support to deliver results.  This position is a key member of the location’s EHS leadership team and is highly visible position in the plant and the Arconic Engines (AE) Business Unit.
AE is a world leader in the investment casting of super alloys, aluminum and titanium products and is a leading supplier of structural components for the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, and industrial gas turbine markets.  The Dover location is increasing its labor force and implementing significant capital investment to accommodate customer demand and the rapid growth in the aerospace jet engine market.  This position provides an opportunity to join a growing organization.
Essential Job Functions
  • The primary role of this position will be to drive and support safety and fatality prevention activities across the campus which includes two operating locations.
•         Coaches and provides mentorship to departmental leadership in the execution of EHS accountabilities.
  • Actively seeks out hazards, and works with department leadership to address.
  • Provides oversight of location EHS self-assessment (audit) process and coaching of location Single Point Accountable (SPAs) persons.
  • Participates in and guides new equipment design discussions and start up reviews.
  • Analyses data and reports necessary for corrective / preventive actions and gaps.
  • Assists with development and implementation of EHS policy and procedures
  • Develops and conducts EHS-related training sessions.
  • Participates actively in investigation of EHS incidents.



Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
•         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder').
•         Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
•         BS degree in a safety-related discipline.
•         At least 3 years EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
•         Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution.
•         Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills.
•         Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data.
•         Critical skills include: Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, developing others, drive for change, tenacity, and getting organization support.
