Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking an Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer to build an enterprise data management framework which will enable simplified and secured access to data stored across the enterprise. AFS seeks this resource at our headquarters in Torrance, CA to manage data across approximately 30 manufacturing and distributions facilities around the world. Enterprise data is currently maintained manage in several systems and existing reporting solutions. This resource will help design, build, and operate enterprise class solutions to improve the management, maintenance, and analytics across the existing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, deploy, and manage AFS Enterprise Data Warehouse. Resource will identify data sources, develop and maintain data architectures, constructs data catalog and data decomposition diagrams, provide data flow diagrams and documents the EDW processes.
  • Responsible for developing and managing ETL processes that load data from various sources into the enterprise data warehouse. This employee will participate in design, development, testing, execution and quality assurance of both automated and manual data integration and exchange processes.
  • Develop, manage and maintain data models, including physical and logical models of the data warehouse, data marts, development and staging areas and source systems as necessary to meet new and changing business requirements.
  • Work with various customers, prospects and stakeholders, understands and translates business use cases and/or requirements into data models, data integration routines and analytics reports, leveraging Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI technologies.
  • Hands on development responsibility, including:
    • Developing ETL scripts and performance ETL operations.
    • Designing and creating tables, constraints, views, stored procedures, triggers, indexes
    • Prepare database deployment and data migration scripts
    • Creating and scheduling SQL Server Agent jobs
    • Develop, configure, and deploy SSIS projects/packages
    • Disk space capacity planning and management. Performance monitoring and tuning
    • Troubleshoot and resolve session blocking, job failures, optimize long running queries
    • Documentation database changes and new processes. TFS source control schema and data changes
    • Microsoft Master Data Services (MDS) package creation and deployment. Managing MDS entities and attributes
    • Create SSRS and modify SSRS reports
  • Support the creation, deployment, and maintenance of data analytical tools developed to ensure consistency and repeatability going forward.
  • Responsible for providing data driven analytics and actionable insights to support internal business partners at an Enterprise level.
  • Coordinate activities with data source application owners to ensure integration, data integrity and data quality.
  • Facilitates best practice guidelines around all stages of development


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Minimum of 2 years hands on ETL development in tools such as SSIS and/or Informatica.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment. eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies -  SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, MDS, DQS, Power BI
  • Certification or formal training Microsoft SQL Server
  • Working experiences in design and modeling normalized and dimensional (e.g. star schema) data warehouses.
  • A positive self-starter with a solid work ethic, ability to meet deadlines, strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills desired to solve problems required
  • Knowledge of data base structures and experience in extracting and analyzing data is required.
