Job Description

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
SUMMARY
Under direction from the Machine Shop Manufacturing Engineer, provides oversight of the fabrication of hardware produced for applicable customers while supporting Arconic to achieve established processing and financial targets. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities.   • Assist the engineers with gathering data on the shop floor relative to the performance of machining processes as a function of part, machine, material, operator, and other personnel or factors involved.
  • Document departures from approved practice for internal review.
  • Help with the investigation of root cause when defects occur.
  • Support operations with technical guidance associated with machining practice.
  • Participate in cost reduction projects to achieve targets established by the business unit.
  • Conduct necessary shop audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects within Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Quality to support Operational, Technical and Quality Excellence
  • Perform related duties as assigned.





Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  High school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of experience in machining.
 
Preferred Qualifications:  Associate’s degree or higher in Manufacturing or related field.
