Job Description

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of Process Owner’s group to support the effective operations of the Monoshell Process; including Mold wash units, mold inspection /mold wrap in foundry. This position supports engineering/manufacturing by developing and monitoring the implementation of the quality system for mold inspection and assuring defect free molds.
•          Provide report preparation, problem resolution, activity instructions, product criteria, quality issues and deviated material reports, etc. in relation to requirements for mold wash units and foundry
•          Monitor the pre-cast foundry manufacturing, dewax, mold wash and inspection processes for compliance and identify areas for improvements and cost reduction.
•          Review nonconforming materials, equipment and processes for root cause and sustainable corrective action. Work with maintenance and facilities engineering to resolve any issues with units operation.
•          Assist with Monoshell process owner in developing work instructions and conducting test analysis for monoshell properties as required.
•          Assist Monoshell Process Owner with reviewing and maintaining accurate daily process data of all robot cells regarding slurry mgt.  Daily review of equipment issues, alarms and development of corrective actions.
•          Assures adherence to Process material inventory by working with manufacturing
•          Develop proficiency in Monoshell robot programming to act as Back up to monohsell process owner.
•          Responsible for any required ASAT testing as assigned by the Process Owner / Engineering.  For example; mold wash programming and testing, data collection, mold inspection reporting and dewax surveys.
•          Be able to provide data to correlate improvements of mold wash and inspection techniques to FPI yields.
•          Ability to work with minimal supervision completing assigned tasks.
•          Must be able to establish appropriate priorities and complete tasks on schedule.
•          Complies with all documented quality procedures and EHS rules.
Perform all other job related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's degree and/or pursuing a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of work experience in a STEM related position 
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience in basic robot programming; knowledge of HMI Systems for  program development and system optimization.
  • Experience working in investment casting
  • Working knowledge of general statistics and SPC
  • Computer competency with Microsoft Office - specifically Excel, data analysis, and statistical process control.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of the organization and external customers.
