Job Description

Position Summary: Leader who identifies new technical opportunities, questions the status-quo, looks beyond currently accepted paradigms and translates new ideas into technical solutions.  Leads local research & development and continuous improvement activities; provides oversight to process development including tooling in a machining environment. Also manages manufacturing and process engineering activities.  Participates in team efforts to institutionalize lean manufacturing principles and practices.  Ensures that engineering activities generate robust designs which support efficient manufacturing processes.  Leads team supporting capital investment and strategic project deployment.

  Essential Duties:
  • Creates and realizes innovative designs for the acquisition or upgrade of machines with latest technologies for maximum efficiency and time reduction
  • Ensures that designs maximize dependability, functionality, and ease of manufacture.
  • Prepares and conducts technical presentations to senior-level managers
  • Creates and implements Continuous Improvement strategies to transform BRB into a world-class manufacturer of products.  Reviews current state of manufacturing processes, develops and implements lean manufacturing plans
  • Provides technical troubleshooting support to identify root causes of technical problems and develops effective solutions to identified problems.
  • Plans, organizes and evaluates capital and automation engineering projects for technical and financial feasibility and manages the projects from the conceptual stages through to completion.
  • Participates in the development of and monitors performance against the annual capital plan.
  • Seeks to continually improve manufacturing performance through timely provision of process engineering support utilizing ABS principles and methods.
  • Oversees the development of manufacturing processes and seeks to reduce product cost structures whenever practical to increase profit margins.
  • Provides leadership to assigned staff.  Evaluates performance, makes recommendations regarding compensation actions, coaches and counsels staff, provides suitable developmental activities to increase staff capabilities.
  • Strives to continuously improve Innovation and Engineering performance and capabilities.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Arconic Guide to Business Conduct.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to Arconic Business Systems manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (from an accredited University)
  • Minimum of 5 years in an Engineering Manufacturing role
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Innovation and Engineering experience in a CNC machining environment
  • Experience with capital projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 concepts and deployment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Master’s Degree in a technical field
  • PE Certified
  • Excellent leadership skills to move assigned human resources toward accomplishment of objectives.
  • Solid planning, organizing, and implementation skills.
  • A “can do/do-it-now” mentality.  Ability to overcome technical and non-technical obstacles.  High energy and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong presentation skills to present new product concepts to groups and individuals.
  • Ability to interact effectively with, and to gain cooperation from, individuals at all levels of the organization.
