Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry.  Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) helps architects, designers, specifiers and installers achieve their own groundbreaking ideas using our Reynobond® %7C Reynolux® products.  We serve the global market with manufacturing facilities in Eastman, Georgia USA and Merxheim, France, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  
 
We have an immediate need for an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for supporting AAPE operations in meeting the necessary reliability, safety, cost and production related goals.  The Engineering Manager will be responsible leading the planning/maintaining reliability of production equipment and capital spending projects.  This individual must effectively collaborate, and influence peers and other internal stakeholders as needed to meet business objectives.
 
 
Essential Duties:
  • Develops and implements a long range strategic improvement for process management, capital spending and reliability plans.
  • Ensures that breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes are minimized.
  • Leads the Engineering department through driving efficiencies and departmental objectives.
  • Manages department spending and performance, initiates programs and procedures to reduce spending and enhance performance.
  • Managers the capital spending planning and execution of projects for EHS, Sustaining, Productivity and Growth.
  • Provide project management support for major systems and equipment installations.
  • Communicates policies and ensures facility employees create a safe, productive and pleasant working environment.
  • Diagnoses and assists in solving difficult engineering and maintenance problems and recurring malfunctions.
  • Determines skill gaps within the department and defines training to bridge the gaps.
  • Maintains personal safety equipment and ensures all applicable safety regulations are strictly followed.
  • Participates in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.
  • Supervise Process Engineering Specialist
  • Work jointly with Product Engineering on concurrent product and process designs.
  • Maintain awareness of new technology and evaluate its value to AAP Eastman.
  • Lead the implementation of equipment FMEA’s as needed.
 
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Must possess strong leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols
  • Knowledge of project management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with implementation of LEAN Manufacturing tools and techniques
 
 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing.
  • 2+ years management experience
  • Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • 1+ years’ experience in process or continuous improvement in a manufacturing or military environment.
  • Working knowledge of process and equipment.
  • Aluminum/Architectural related experience
