This opening is in our Kawneer (TRACO) business line located in Cranberry Twp., PA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Engineering Maintenance Manager​ has full responsibility for the engineering organization supporting all areas of manufacturing. They will implement and maintain engineering objectives and initiatives including a strong emphasis on Smart Manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects while ensuring their success in meeting their respective objectives;
  • Drive implementation of Smart Manufacturing;
  • Implement approved engineering budgets and monitor actual expenses to ensure they fall within budgets, analyzing out of budget expenses and ensuring they are offset in other areas of the project unless fully justified;
  • Responsible for developing engineered solutions for plant safety and environmental issues;
  • Responsible for engineering initiatives that support Quality, People, Cost and Growth projects;
  • Partner with EHS department on projects and sponsorship of Critical ASAT owners;
  • Assist and mentor principle contacts, such as other engineers, plant manufacturing personnel, maintenance mechanics and electricians and other similar personnel, within the plant and outside of the plant through technical expertise, training and project leadership;
  • Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, enforcing policies, conducting performance management for department;
  • Provides expert process knowledge and applies engineering science to establish and maintain control and capability for production processes and for continuously improving technology;
  • Maintains a high level of internal control over assigned business processes and implements controls to adequately manage business risks consistent with Arconic expectations. This involves continuous compliance, auditing, & certification of assigned business processes;
  • Implement and direct all phases of complex engineering projects to provide new or upgraded equipment and processes;
  • Provides creative, innovative and comprehensive problem-solving capability;
  • Convey technical ideas and concepts from conception to start-up to support plant objectives and goals;
  • Oversee the preparation of cost estimates and pricing of products to ensure Arconic’s competitive market position while maintaining company profit goals;
  • Manages Plant Capital Improvement Program;
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems through the direction and deployment of manufacturing engineering in order to optimize product performance while minimizing cost;
  • Conduct studies related to design, production methods and equipment in order to recommend improvements which will optimize product performance while minimizing cost;
  • Monitor and report on cost reductions which are a result of method improvements in order to improve profit margins;
  • Ensure continued departmental effectiveness through the selection, development, training and motivation of a competent staff;
  • Initiate, review and update engineering standards and guidelines, repair and maintenance recommendations, and equipment supply sources and cost data in support of plant operations.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing and / or industrial plant experience;
  • Minimum of 5 year managerial and / or supervisory experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 15 years of manufacturing and / or industrial plant experience;
  • Minimum of 10 year managerial and / or supervisory experience;
  • Experience with Extrusion, Finishing, and/or Anodize operations;
  • Experience with Curtain Wall and / or Window Wall products;
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Processes.
