Arconic Engines is a world leader in the investment casting of superalloys, aluminum and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets. We currently are seeking an engineering professional with a hands-on style to join our Dover, New Jersey operations. As a Process Modeling Engineer, the ideal candidate will Construct CAD and FE models and analyze process model results; working with plant process and product engineers to use modeling to more efficiently introduce new product, improve process robustness, improve process yield, reduce costs and improve process understanding. The ideal candidate will also work with other modeling engineers to advance the capabilities and applicability of process modeling to investment casting.

Key Responsibilties include:
•Develops a metallurgically sound process via the use of Unigraphics and process modeling software. Provides recommendations to Process Engineer based on modeling results.
•Daily communication with Process Engineering on modeling activity/results.
•Communicate process modeling results on certain components periodically with technical executive management.
•Assists Process Engineer in conceiving, evaluating and implementing process engineering experiments, new product introduction part qualifications, cost reduction initiatives, capacity initiatives, and part/process improvement activities.
•Assists Process Engineer in utilizing NDT and destructive testing methods to improve yields and develop new process techniques.
•Communicate/interface with all levels of management and establish both internal and external customer contacts.
•Utilize basic engineering skills to approach problems analytically and derive sound conclusions.
•Communicate periodic updates for process modeling in progress with known completion dates to Engineering.
•Perform other miscellaneous assignments or directed by supervision.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 6 months of investment casting experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple three dimensional CAD applications (UG/Catia/ProEngineer)
  • Knowledge of a variety of Finite Element Method applications (3D Automeshing/Fluid Flow/Heat Transfer/Stress)
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows Experience leading teams in problem solving and solution implementation
  • Experience in training and/or mentoring technical staff on capabilities of FE process modeling
