Job Description

Essential Functions

Under minimal supervision, troubleshoot and maintain electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operator interface terminals for large scale manufacturing equipment. These machines may contain multiple PLCs, VFD’s, Servos, and HMI’s.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all industrial power distribution and lighting panels, circuits and fixtures.
  • Responsible for installation and electrical set-up of new or relocated machinery.
  • Responsible for installation and wiring programmable digital controllers and electrical troubleshooting and repair of all plant production equipment.
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of plant-wide industrial electronic components for electro- mechanical systems, installation and programming of PLC programmable controllers, power supplies special and remote 1/0 modules and communication interfacing.
  • Assist in the implementation and debug of new machines and upgrades to existing machines.
  • Responsible to perform and/or assist with mechanical repairs throughout the facility and on machines.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends and overtime.
  • Perform tasks at working heights greater than 4 feet

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC Programming capability
  • Working from electrical schematics, must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and isolate electrical and electronics issues
  • Working knowledge of electrical safety codes including the NEC and NFPA79.
  • Minimum of five years industrial electrical maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PLCs, HMI Programming, digital and analog sensors
  • Working knowledge of Ladder Logic
  • Experience with Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers
  • Working knowledge of motors control centers and distribution controls systems
  • Good working knowledge in PCs and application software is essential
  • Good oral and written communication skills, problem solving, good computer skills, organized ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and can work as a team player
