Job Description

Arconic is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Massena facility. The entry position for professionals usually directly following a B.S. degree in engineering.  Incumbent will assist with the development, management and implementation of capital projects, will assist with major repairs and maintenance projects and will provide some process engineering support.  This role is expected to perform needed work under the supervision and direction of more experienced engineers and/or supervisors and to learn about processes, procedures, technologies, safety, economics, statistics, and other areas.  This person will assist with developing technical solutions, including the use of Automation, to solve reoccurring equipment, productivity and equipment-related process problems identified via appropriate equipment productivity and process data analyses.  Primary emphasis is on implementation in areas defined by others.
•         Participate in automation and other capital projects, including the specification and qualification of equipment, justification of costs, PEHSRs, leadership of contracted and internal resources and implementation into manufacturing operations
•         Assist with the development of a strategic plan to increase the use of automation
•         Participate in development of long range process and facilities planning, capital expenditure and cost savings programs
•         Participate in developing and executing solutions for improving the overall safety of equipment through involvement with safety teams and ASAT ownership
•         Demonstrate effective work load balance and project management skills for multiple simultaneous projects
•         Demonstrate ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
•         Establish good working relationship with peers, associates, and others at all levels.
•         Develop an awareness of the environmental impact engineering decisions have within assigned areas.
•         Develop an awareness of the economic impact engineering decisions have on the facility.
•         Begin understanding and using statistical tools.
•         Begin developing technical skills in discipline.
Specific assignments and technical/procedural direction from experienced engineers or formal supervisor.
Assignment objectives, performance feedback, and administration from formal supervisor.



•BASIC Qualifications:
••         B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.  (December graduates may be considered)

••         Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
••         Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams.
••         Experience in an internship in manufacturing.
••         Attention to detail and ability to rapidly respond to project demands and problems.
•          Knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
