Job Description

This position, Electrical Engineer, is with Arconic Engineered Structures, a metals manufacturer who serves the global aerospace and automotive markets with the most specialized engineering, highest quality, and greatest breadth and depth of extrusions and forgings in our industry. This position will be in our Lafayette, IN Extrusion facility. The engineer in this position will be a part of the plant engineering team, responsible for capital improvements and assisting with production uptime. The engineers work closely with production and maintenance to upgrade existing equipment, perform repairs, and install new machinery. This group also supports the day to day operations by acting as a resource for skilled trades and contracted services.



Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology from accredited institution
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years industry experience in a manufacturing environment as an electrical engineer
  • Experience in preparing capital project business cases and plans
  • Experience in managing capital project work crews
  • Experience in industrial robotics installations and programming
  • Proficiency with the Allen Bradley PLC and control families
  • Proficient in troubleshooting low voltage control circuitry (110 VAC) and power circuitry (480 VAC)
  • Familiar with DC power systems (250 VDC)
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in JFPA-70E (NEC) high/low voltage standards
  • Proven organizational, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Extended hour availability for repairs or as needed
