Job Description

Ÿ  To manage the departmental, spend in line with the EH&S budget

Ÿ  Drive continuous improvement throughout the business, define the highest standards required for HS&E

Ÿ  To act as Senior HS&E Representative, liaise with employees

Ÿ  Production of accurate and timely H&S statistics and analysis

Ÿ  To provide professional support for the management team and all other employees, ensuring legal requirements are adhered to

Ÿ  To liaise with the Group Health and Safety function as required

Ÿ  To produce training material, manage and seek out relevant training requirements, source training providers and/or deliver structured training to the management and all other employees to enhance their job skills and meet personal development needs and to meet legal requirements

Ÿ  Prepare a health and safety strategy and develop internal policy across all sites

Ÿ  Carry out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced

Ÿ  Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards

Ÿ  Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;

Ÿ  Plan practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices;

Ÿ  Attend safety committee meetings;

Ÿ  Negotiate with managers and operators to try to eliminate conflict between production and safety considerations

Ÿ  Make relevant changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation;

Ÿ  Keep accurate records of incidents and accidents

Ÿ  Keep records of inspections findings and producing reports suggesting improvements;

Ÿ  Keep up to date with new legislation

Ÿ  To liaise with officials from the regulatory authorities to ensure the organization is compliant with mandatory regulations

Ÿ  Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins

Ÿ  Carry out accident investigations on site and producing subsequent reports and recommendations

Ÿ  Carry out fire drills

Ÿ  Any other adhoc duties as required



Qualifications

Ÿ  NEBOSH

Ÿ  Preferably educated to Degree level within a relevant discipline
