JOB SUMMARY:
The EHS Coordinator will support efforts to continuously improve the plant EHS systems.   The primary emphasis of the role is to assist in executing regulatory EHS sampling, floor inspections, audits, and waste haul-offs across the facility.  
 
Essential Functions:
This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
  • Partner with all plant departments to assess and monitor site compliance with EHS regulations 
  • Lead/manage efforts in the Building C Waste Area, specifically preparation of process waste and scheduling vendors to haul off the waste.   
  • Assist with proactive EHS projects, such as waste minimization, fatality prevention, and injury prevention projects.
  • Conduct plantwide chemical inventory inspections.
  • Facilitate and coordinate an outside vendor in obtaining monthly wastewater samples.
  • Ensure the plant spill kits are in good working condition
  • Assists in developing and writing procedures and operational work instructions, single point lessons, and other required documentation
  • Assist in EHS incident investigations to understand root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Conduct hazardous waste accumulation area inspections.
  • Follows all procedures and escalates any concerns accordingly.
  • Train and collaborate with plant personnel of all levels in order to improve our EHS programs/systems. 
  • Work with the Security team to ensure visitors, vendors, and contractors comply with Arconic EHS and ITAR expectations.
  • Responsible for procedure correctness and training documentation

Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Basic functions of Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands:
  • Continuously required to wear common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats.

  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Location/Environmental Requirements:
Nickel and titanium manufacturing facility. Exposure to: moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration; loud noise level



Qualifications

 
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trained Mobile Equipment operator is preferred (or have the ability to operate a forklift)
  • Attention to detail with written and verbal communications.
  • Basic computer knowledge. Proficiency with Tropos, QPulse and Microsoft Office
