Job Description

Arconic Fastening Systems is seeking a Divisional Financial Controller, NA Aerospace. Essential Functions:
Plans, directs and executes the business group’s financial objectives and strategies. Provides appropriate analysis and recommendations to the BU Lead Team. Motivates and leads team at the site and divisional level to fully utilize and develop talent. Supports attainment of the group’s sales and profit objectives by action as an internal consultant to the AFS VP Finance, to that position’s headquarters staff and to the senior Operations Manager/Director at each manufacturing facility globally. Monitors conformance with Arconic and governmental standards, policies, regulations, and procedures within the scope of authority. Continually improves the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes in areas of authority. Seeks to improve profit performance across all product lines. Responsible for the Accounting and Finance and Departments’ conduct and maintenance of required records to support corporate financial policy. Monitors utilization of Arconic Self-Audit Tool (ASAT), including testing and corrective action.
 
Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Direct the daily activities of the Accounting and Finance personnel to accurately determine individual and group job performance while also ensuring compliance with company policy.  
  • Provide timely analysis, data and information to senior management. Interprets such data and develops recommendations to address areas identified as requiring corrective actions or improvements.
  • Participate in the development, analysis and implementation of all plans, forecasts and projections and maintain a system to monitor such plans. Regularly discusses and evaluates division financial results with senior-level Financial and Executive personnel at higher levels of the organization.
  • Perform special assignments within when detailed analysis of information not readily available through standard reports and systems. Utilizes the Information Services team to develop approaches to securing required data without major systems and program modifications.
  • Direct timely monthly and annual financial closing processes for the Division. Analyzes complex financial data to determine the reasons for deviations, both positive and negative, from monthly and annual plans and forecasts.  Develops recommendations to correct identified financial performance deficiencies.
  • Prepare a wide range of standard and special financial reports and other data as required by Corporate-level personnel engaged in detailed analysis of Division strategic financial plans and forecasts. May partner with corporate personnel in development and implementation of strategic plan modifications.
  • Coordinate activities of internal and external audit staffs with Controllers and other operating location management. Conducts period pre-audits to identify and correct deficiencies requiring correction. Works closely with internal and external audit teams to support accurate audit conclusions and develop corrections actions to remedy deficiencies.
 
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement adequate internal accounting controls including cash, payrolls and accounts payable inventory. Periodically reviews ASAT testing to determine if controls are sufficient for their intended purpose and develops additional or improved controls when needed. Participate in the planning, training, taking and auditing of physical inventories and the analysis of final results.
  • Maintain the Capital asset System and ensures timeliness and accuracy of data. Participates in the preparation and processing for approval of Requests for Authorization (RFA) for capital projects.  Analyzes financial impact of requested funding to determine payback period and related outcomes.  Ensures that RFA’s meet the Corporation’s standards for positive financial results.
  • Monitor workloads and make recommendations on changes affecting personnel including new hires, discipline, promotion and salary adjustments.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Arconic Guide to Business Conduct to include ASATS and SOX compliance.  Monitors compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations in countries and regions where AFS conducts business activities.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to Arconic Business Systems manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as an Accounting /Finance Leader for a multiple site organization.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing industry
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate technical and operational accounting issues and to develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and implementation skills to deliver superior levels of performance in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities to proactively lead a team of managerial and professional people and to interact effectively with individuals and groups both internal and external to the company and at all organizational levels.
