Arconic is currently in search of a Crane Coordinator to join our Global Rolled Products business unit in Lancaster, PA.
The Crane Coordinator is responsible for implementing and facilitating a crane maintenance and inspection program.  This will be achieved by organizing and coordinating the use of all crane related safety standards as per OSHA, ANSI, ASME, and Arconic.  This person will be responsible to provide leadership, supervision, training and technical support for all crane related activity.

  • Arconic Business System (ABS): The incumbent will take a leadership role in promoting and practicing Arconic Business System concepts and philosophies within his/her span of control and responsibility.
  • Establish, implement and maintain a safe, effective and reliable preventative maintenance program for all fixed rail cranes, lifting devices, and below the hook lifting attachments.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and technical information for in-house maintenance personnel and outside contractors for all crane related work performed.
  • Learn and gain thorough knowledge of crane repair, maintenance and inspection requirements as per OSHA, ANSI, ASME and Arconic.   Must have OSHA certification on crane inspections.
  • Develop and maintain all documentation as required by OSHA, ASME, ANSI, and Arconic.
  • Provide communication as liaison between Lancaster and Arconic Corporate Crane Strategy Board.  This will include but not limited to: reporting crane related incidents, receiving Arconic world-wide crane incidents and information, providing location input for incident investigations as needed and participating in crane related technical information sharing.
  • Fulfill the duties of single point accountability (SPA) person for crane safety program.
  • Oversee all OSHA required annual inspections for cranes and lifting devices.
  • Facilitate the implementation and use of crane related standard operating and safe job procedures.
  • Identify and investigate new opportunities for: crane training, crane upgrades or crane safety.
  • When necessary support or assist on projects as project manager for jobs that may not be crane related.  As directed by Maintenance Lead or Manager.
  • Must have the ability and knowledge to provide training for crane specific operations and maintenance.
  • Incumbent is responsible to establish financial requirements for maintenance, inspections and repairs to all fixed cranes and lifting devices.  Will also be responsible to establish budget plan for code compliance crane upgrades.   Establish and oversee capital and expense budget items for all fixed rail cranes, lifting devices, and below the hook lifting attachments.


  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • Advanced technical degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Fabrication and Welding
  • Minimum 2 years’ Military experience in a Mechanical or Power and Propulsion field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ Supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in crane specific maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Good Communication skills; verbal and written and the ability to deal effectively with others.
