Arconic (formally Alcoa) has an immediate opening for a Supervisor for our Cost Estimating Group. Our passionate commitment to Operations provides the successful candidate with an excellent environment in which to work and the leadership commitment and support to deliver results.  This position is a key member of the location’s Operations team and is highly visible position in the plant and Business Unit. The position provides an excellent platform for potential future growth to the successful candidate.  The position is located in Rancho Cucamonga. California.
Supervises the Central Estimating (CE) Department supplying quotes in support of the Rings Operations.  Provides guidance to Estimators and insures that cost estimates and corresponding quotes are handled in a timely and accurate manner in support of securing profitable business for the Rings sites.  Reports directly to the Manager of Central Estimating.
  • Sets work priorities for the CE team.
  • Monitors flow of incoming Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and insures that the work is balanced among the Cost Estimators.
  • Oversees the quality of cost estimates and quotes to insure they accurately reflect the capabilities of the applicable facilities.
  • Insures that CE is using the most current product rationalization guideline as the basis for assigning quotes to the sites.
  • Insures that the quotes reflect the current site lead-times and raw material costs.
  • Is required to prepare cost estimates and quotes as required to insure CE is meeting the quote turn-around objectives.
  • Supports in preparing cost estimates for product manufacturing to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product by analyzing proposals and requirements.
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Supports preparation of special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Validates quote accuracy on NPI parts through follow up with plants on actual costs.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Responsible for supervising cost estimators.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years Cost estimating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
