The Conversion & Shipment Specialist position offers the opportunity to become a vital member of a high profile, high energy, Titanium Alloy production unit created within a well-established, respected company with decades of industry leading manufacturing performance. Arconic has made a $31 million investment in facilities & equipment over the past 24 months in support of a 7-year contract to provide cutting edge materials to the Aerospace industry. The manufacture of Titanium Alloy process uses industrialized ground-breaking production techniques that have been seen as revolutionary to the titanium melting industry. The Conversion & Shipment Specialist-TiAl Organizes, prioritizes and tracks the status of shipments of titanium aluminide material sent to outside contractors for processing as well as organizes shipments to the final customer. Ensures continued material flow, stable/improved cycle times and on-time delivery. Works within SAP and completes transactions needed for OSC shipments, material tracking while at the converters and deliveries to the customer. Duties include:
  • Assembles material into batches and completes the necessary paperwork & SAP transactions to ship the material for outside conversion and to the final customer.
  • Assigns priority statuses to each batch of material to instruct the OSC vendors as to the order in which the batches must be processed to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Reviews certifications and other documentation from conversion vendors.
  • Provides status updates and tracking information for all material at OSC’s when requested.
  • Tracks the performance of each converter; Quality, OTD, Cycle time, Cost.
  • Maintains OSC files and records.
  • Assists conversion with updating of info records as needed.
  • Miscellaneous office / administrative functions.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in inventory control or production scheduling;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong computer application skills including advanced MS Excel
  • Strong math, communication and prioritization skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be flexible.
  • SAP experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing
  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution
