Job Description

Arconic Engineered Structures (AES) serves the global aerospace and automotive markets with the most specialized engineering, highest quality, and the greatest breadth and depth of forgings and extrusions. This BU is also home to our suite of direct and hybrid additive offerings. Headquartered in Cleveland, OH; AES employs 6000 people in 6 countries at 30 locations. AES is a business unit of Arconic (NYSE: ARNC).
 
Arconic has an immediate need for a Controller in our Houston, TX facility.
 
The Controller manages Houston Extrusions Operations planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions and develops and manages processes to ensure compliance with Arconic Self-Assessment Testing (ASAT) and other internal audit requirements and Arconic reporting requirements. 
The Controller directly manages all plant level accounting and controllership functions including general ledger, forecasting, management reporting and oversight of plant expenses, working capital management, and IT and Procurement services, and also ensures the financial integrity, control and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
The Controller provides plant information to all relevant BU level and corporate departments and disseminates all communications from those same external organizations to all finance and operations staff within the plant.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identifying key levers to drive business improvement
  • Providing leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities
  • Determining, in conjunction with plant management, targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization and profitability
  • Deploying business unit initiatives.
  • Coordinating the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews
  • Ensuring completion of Arconic's Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls
  • Driving year over year cost reduction initiatives
  • Forecasting and Planning results to meet expectations of Arconic shareholders and stakeholders
  • Coordinating transactions and business needs with other locations within the business unit
  • Reviewing financial statements and account reconciliations with follow up and corrective action as needed
  • Communicating location results in comparison to forecast, plan and performance objectives
  • Complying with Arconic, business unit and location policies, procedures and reporting requirements
  • Attesting to validity of location financial statements and representations
  • Developing and following standard work
  • Promoting a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 5 years of financial work experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited institution preferred
  • High proficiency in using MS Office software, experience with SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar systems, project management, multi-tasking and developing/executing data queries
  • Strong operational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high pressure/ high intensity environment
  • Financial work experience in a manufacturing environment (Forging, Casting, Melting or Extrusion industry preferred)
  • Ability to dig for details and work on challenging projects
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present forecast and monthly performance results to plant and business unit leadership
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner to non-finance personnel
  • MBA/CPA preferred
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
