Arconic Engines (AEN) is seeking a Controller to be responsible for the overall financial affairs of the Rochester manufacturing organization and to prepare financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management.  The Controller also has responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the Company’s financial and accounting records such as formal books of account, general and subsidiary ledgers, and journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  This position is located in the AEN aerospace manufacturing facility in Rochester, NY.

  • Act as an authority on GAAP/SOX related accounting matters for the site, including areas such as revenue recognition and cost accounting
  • Coordinate and administer an adequate plan for the control of operations including; profit planning an analysis, sales forecasts, expense budgets, cost standards, saving opportunities, and capital investing
  • Establish quantitative performance measures grounded in sound financial management techniques and provide the operating management with immediate and accurate information on a proactive basis.
  • Keep Corporate Controller informed of the site’s performance and provide advice on all financial matters, including desirable operational adjustments.
  • Compare performance with operating plans and standards; provide reports and interpret results of operations to all levels of management, including the formulation of accounting policies, preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required
  • Provide departments of the site with related information required to carry out their assigned responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise management regarding variances to budget
  • Develop and maintain cost models to assess and track cost reduction opportunities
  • Manage and control the working capital for the operation including credit and collection, accounts payable and inventory.  Set credit limits in line with group policy.
  • Forecast short and long range cash requirements and obligations as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.
  • Act as primary interface to external auditors with respect to site matters.
  • Develop a diverse workforce that operates effectively in a team environment
  • Administration of financial systems to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with Federal, State, and Company regulations/policies.  Ensure compliance with all required reporting deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • A demonstrated ability to simultaneously administer and coordinate multiple, ongoing projects, ensuring that they are implemented effectively within targeted timelines and costs. 
  • Strong management and leadership skills to direct a professional staff, promote team effort and develop strong working relationships across functional and division lines.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of finance experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • Experience with GAAP/SOX requirements
  • 7+ years of finance experience in manufacturing in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Expert skills in all accounting disciplines, including financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, planning and forecasting
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
