Job Description

Job Summary
Develop, write standardized work and Audit ABS cells for compliance with department product criteria (PC’s) and ABS systems. Collects and prepares related data and provides support to ABS department by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
Follow Arconic Howmet’s Safety Regulations and work Rules Handbook along with all department specific safety requirements.
  • Assists with developing, implementation and auditing of standardized work
  • Trains employees to standardized work practices
  • Ensures Daily Management and Aussie boards are accurate
  • Trains and assist with TPM initiatives
  • Leads problem solving and follows up on action items
  • Works with supervision to develop cell support (team leaders)
  • Monitors cell operations and works with cell support and team to accomplish common goals
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Performs scheduled audits of the cells which include 6S, Standardized Work and Daily Management
  • Maintains effective metrics and establishes meaningful feedback to dept. supervisors / leaders and operators
  • Determines action plan when audits fail and follow up activities
  • Complies with all EHS rules for the work environment
  • Must have demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate Kaizen improvement teams
  • Ability to train other ABS Technicians

  • Ensures support in meeting departments ABS goals and ASAT requirements
Skills and abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in written, oral or diagram form, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical problems.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as be a part of a team.
  • Ability to understand basic manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to be detailed oriented in completing tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to create documents, charts using MS Office applications.
  • Ability to organize work efficiently.
  • Ability to solve problems with multiples variables in standardized situations.
Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.


Job Requirements
This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
The following skills and abilities are preferred:
Understanding of the Arconic/Howmet Business System
5 years manufacturing experience
Ability to perform job duties in dept assigned
This position requires a minimum of 2 years-related experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
