Arconic Engines is looking for a Continuous Improvement (ABS) Engineer to plan, implement and follow-through on continuous improvement initiatives established within Arconic’s operating model: the Arconic Business System (ABS). The ABS Engineer will coordinate and lead a wide range of activities that are designed to improve on-time delivery, productivity, quality, cost, safety and environmental performance. This position is located at our aerospace forging plant in Reno / Verdi, Nevada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate successful kaizen and rapid improvement process events with both internal and external consultants, customers and suppliers, with a major emphasis on locally focused improvement. Provide the support all follow-throughs required to sustain the improvements established during the events.
  • Coordinate, assist and deliver team-based and ABS training to support enhanced organizational performance through imparting a thorough knowledge of team and ABS concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Assist team leaders in team skill and knowledge development to support meeting management goals, project management, improvements, results measurements, problem solving, and related team skills.
  • Provide assistance and support focusing on the perfection of ABS techniques. Identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Assist in the collection of data for tracking improvements.
  • Coordinate with resource departments to fabricate, install and implement improvements
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain full compliance with Company policies and procedures, and conduct all activities in accordance with the Arconic Guide to Business Conduct.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of, and commitment to, ABS manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Other tasks as assigned

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization; ability to prepare and present training; ability to influence
  • Computer Skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good planning and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited Institution
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prefer the Bachelor’s Degree is in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, from an accredited institution
  • Strongly prefer 3+ years of experience implementing lean manufacturing and rapid improvement programs
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Toyota Production System (TPS) principles
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Lean Six Sigma principles
