Position Description:
Arconic is currently seeking a Construction, Building, & Grounds Supervisor/Planner to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit at our Tennessee Operations location in Alcoa, TN. This position will be responsible for the 24/7 operation of Tennessee Operations’ Ingot and Remelt facilities, with high quality maintenance and technical expertise required to maintain plant facilities, including: buildings, grounds, environmental outfalls, and production furnaces. The successful candidate will supervise production supervisors and hourly personnel.  
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
  • Responsible for the leadership of facility maintenance construction employees and brickmasons, safety systems management, record keeping, outage planning, and coordinating with other departments, contractors, and state inspectors. 
  • Lead and coach a team of maintenance employees for a 24/7 operation 
  • Responsible for coaching and developing hourly Team Leaders that function in the roles of supervisor, planner, and safety leader.  Continuous performance management of these positions is required to ensure top efficiency.
  • Manage and coordinate furnace outages while ensuring safety compliance, reliable repairs, and meeting outage deadlines and work with engineers to develop systems to ensure longevity of furnaces and best practices
  • Support the plant in strategic business improvement activities that will focus on improving the safety, quality, delivery, and productivity with a results-oriented approach
  • Manage and drive EHS improvements for employees and contractors
  • Demonstrate safe work ethic and promotion of Human Performance (HP) across the department and plant


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An Industrial or technical associate’s or engineering bachelor’s degree or other similarly related degree.
  • 5 years of technical supervisory experience in an industrial environment. 
  • 5 years of aluminum/metal melting furnace repair experience
  • Working knowledge of Oracle eAM or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project scheduling software or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Reading and math skills are required along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and produce field sketches
  • Experience working on casting and/or molten metal equipment and systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and make proper repairs
  • Proven leadership experience managing craft resources with skills necessary to develop a team
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Experience working in a union environment
