Arconic is currently in search of a Commodity Manager, to join our Kawneer business. This position is in Norcross, GA and will report to the Procurement Director.
Kawneer is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Commodity Manager is responsible for assigned Commodities and the management of critical supplier relationships in conjunction with the Procurement Director.
  • The overall goal is to achieve the best total cost position for all external spend within the assigned commodities, the lowest sourcing risks, best supplier performances to ensure the highest efficiency and effectiveness of the Category Management team. 
  • He/she serves as the point of contact for supplier issues within assigned Commodities, including issues related to service, commercial terms and contract disputes.
  • He/she has to execute global best-in-class procurement processes using state-of-the-art procurement IT software support, ensuring the Category Management organization is utilizing the maximum potential within global and local markets (Cost Savings, Innovation, Quality, Logistics).
  • Work directly with the Executive Lead Team.
    Major Activities
  • Direct responsibility for spend within the assigned commodities (worldwide demand/cross Groups and BUs
  • Achieve Procurement targets worldwide for assigned categories (cost, innovation, quality)
  • Develops and executes Procurement strategies to reduce commercial expenses
  • Maintains business relationships with representatives of strategic suppliers for the category
  • Collaborates with Procurement Engineering function using forums such as workshops to achieve category cost savings targets
  • Leads, co-leads, or supports commercial sourcing activity across all assigned commodities as required to meet company objectives (e.g. e-Auction, RfX processes)
  • Leads, co-leads, or supports non-commercial events as required to meet objectives, including, but not limited to Kaizen workshops, Working Capital/Inventory Workshops
  • Executes contract negotiations/Terms and Conditions with suppliers classified in category
  • Accountable for Performance areas: Cost Savings (SRT), Supplier performance, challenging service specifications (demand management)  


    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
    • 5 years of experience in purchasing management or supply chain operations.
    • 3 years of experience operating in an organization with manufacturing operations.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
      Preferred Qualifications:
    • M.B.A. or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics Management
    • 4 years of Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment within North America and globally.
    • 2 years of international purchasing experience
    • Experience with CaluCad and Inventor
    • Project Management experience
    • Familiarity and experience with Procurement tools/methodology
    • Strong financial and business acumen
