Job Description

  • Read and understand drawings, travellers/routers, and work instructions including GD&T data on machine prints. 
  • Inspect, maintain, and log operator maintenance on equipment needed for inspection as required. 
  • Operate CMM and other M&ME to perform in process or final layout on components, analyse machined features to GD&T requirements.
  • Generate inspection reports and FAI reports and analyse dimensional data to determine product conformance
  • Set up material and calibrate machines and tooling according to work instructions to measure product.
  • Require minimal supervision to plan and schedule workload according to production schedule to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Clean work area, tools, and equipment at end of shift. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Perform Final Inspection on completed lots
  • Complete Detailed Inspection Plans documenting inspection results
  • Must be efficient in problem solving and the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast pace environment.
  • Must have good organizational and paperwork skills
  • Perform detailed receiving, in-process, final, and 1st Article inspection of complex machined parts
  • Proficiency using measuring instruments including micrometres, callipers, height gauge, pin gauges, gauge blocks.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection.
  • Create and complete non-conformance reports.
  • Proficiency with computer applications.
  • Ensure that precision machinery is in working condition and properly calibrated.
  • Operate precision machinery as needed.
  • Write or edit programs for precision machinery.


Qualifications

  • Ability to use CMM and other M&ME to measure product features.
  • Ability to use computer programs to create inspection reports.
  • Ability to understand GD&T and how to apply those requirements to measure and analyse product features for conformance.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, writing and communication skills. 
  • Proven history of completing paperwork accurately, legibly, and timely.
  • As needed, available to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice
