The Canton Location Manager, reporting to the Director of Melt, Ti Segment, oversees the three Canton locations which includes Ingot, Revert, and Ferro Ti melting. Responsibilities include supervising the production / maintenance supervisors and ensuring Safety, Quality and Production goals are met within the guidelines set out by the Director of Melt.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•         Single point accountability for Environmental, Health and Safety and SOX Compliance for the three Canton locations.
•         Contribute to the achievement of the manufacturing revenue plan by managing operating costs, which includes managing the P&L, annual operating budgets, cost reduction strategies and efficiency improvements to support the financial goals of the organization.
•         Drive safety and quality culture and accountability into the daily operations.
•         Increase productivity and throughput of operations in Canton through interaction with Area Managers, Production Shift Supervisors and hourly employees.
•         Focus on quality issues by identifying problems in the manufacturing flow, research and analyze potential alternatives that utilize Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing concepts and effectively implement solutions.
  • Consistently track and trend operation results and focus on planning for the future state of the facility.
  • Explore alternative options for making changes to manufacturing processes that will ultimately achieve an increase in productivity and throughput.
•         Understanding the capability of the current equipment in Melting area. Research options for new equipment that can be purchased utilizing capital expenditures. Evaluate existing equipment for potential upgrade keeping consistency and standardization at the forefront.
•         Explore alternative options for making changes to the manufacturing process that will ultimately achieve an increase in productivity and throughput.
•         Must be capable of contributing to the achievement of the manufacturing revenue plan by managing operating costs in the responsible area. This includes the development of annual operating budgets, cost reduction strategies and efficiency improvements to support the financial goals of the organization.
•         Operate in a fast-paced setting with ever-changing and multiple priorities while developing the highest standards of quality, cost, service and safety.
•         Provide leadership and direction to ensure a competent and motivated salary / hourly workforce.
•         Effectively communicate department initiatives and foster an environment of collaboration and cooperation.
•         Work with department management to make certain objectives are clearly understood, communicated throughout the department and achieved by all staff.
•         Assist in special projects and assignments as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration/Management, Finance or related field from an accredited institution; equivalent experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • Five plus years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metals melting or maintenance.
  • Five plus years of experience in a supervisory/management role with strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
•         Self-directed, self-motivated, proven leader who has demonstrated driving change in a heavy industrial environment.
•         Proven ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization. 
•         Strong track record of developing highly efficient teams on the shop floor.
•         Formal training in Lean Manufacturing and or Six Sigma preferred.
•         Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload, while paying attention to detail.
•         Possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills for supporting all aspects of the melting infrastructure.
•         Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, employee relations, quality, productivity and cost.
•         Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulatory agency directives.
•         Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP a plus.
