Summary: Reporting to the Plant Manager, AES has an immediate opening for a Business Administrator located at its Martinsville facilities. This position provides support to multiple areas, including, quality, safety, human resources and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of a Business Administrator:
  • Maintains attendance reports, processes leave and vacation requests and handles employee inquiries regarding attendance related questions.
  • Maintains personnel records, training files, workers compensation files, online calendars and regulatory records.
  • Supports staffing and onboarding processes at site locations, bi-weekly payroll, prepares all training documents and assists with the coordination of interviews.
  • Prepares informational notices for special announcements, action items, training notices, meeting reminders, birth dates, anniversaries, and events, etc.
  • Assists in planning site recognition events and plant communication.
  • Monitors and maintains office equipment, orders and stocks office and safety supplies.
  • Answers telephones and greets visitors, recertification, and return to work physicals, drug and hearing tests.
  • Supports other areas, which includes Safety and Quality by managing miscellaneous projects.
  • Assist with maintaining environmental files.
  • Work with Hazard Communication SPA to ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) information is current and available to employees
  • Maintains current SDS documents and archives copies of no longer in use documents
  • Assists the Plant Manager by offering general administrative support and by performing assigned projects.
  • Greets and directs visitors to the appropriate area.
  • Other general office administrative duties and projects as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative support experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP or Kronos desired.
  • HR Generalist or large volume office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and/or Fed-OHSA EHS standards a plus.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with critical attention to detail, in addition to an ability to analyze and solve work related problems.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including leadership.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
  • Able to multitask in a high energy environment
