Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Job
  • Support Arconic’s Benefit Center of Excellence (COE) in the management of the design and compliance for Arconic's various benefit programs

Major activities/Key challenges
  • 100% of time will be devoted to benefits COE activities (75% Retirement programs. 25% H&W programs) including
    • Assist Benefits managers with the analysis, design and compliance activities surrounding our retirement and health and welfare benefits programs with a primary focus on the US programs
    • Arconic offers a comprehensive set of benefit programs including 401(k), defined benefit pension, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance
    • Primary assistance would be focused on supporting analysis, design and compliance activities related to the defined benefit pension plans and 401(k) plans. Secondary assistance would be provided in support of annual pricing of benefit programs including analysis of enrollment, trends and benchmark data
    • Primary contact for inquiries from shared services on day-to-day operations of the company’s benefits programs (primarily the US) and support for benefits administrator and shared services on retirement benefit program implementation of initiatives
    • Coordinate updates to compliance related employee communications including Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary of Material Modifications, Annual Funding Notices and Summary of Benefits Coverage
    • Partner with shared services on the implementation of benefits
    • Provide assistance support to Managers for labor relations on benefits matters and participate in significant labor negotiations as necessary
    • Provides support to HR business partners on individual benefit matters and on sensitive or complex issues
    • Works with Tax and Legal partners to ensure programs and communication materials are compliant
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
  • Strong knowledge of US defined benefit pension plan administration, design and communication requirements
  • Expert knowledge of Excel both in creating spreadsheets but also in using the data to create presentations that are easily understood by the customers.
  • Must be able to communicate complex ideas simply to multiple levels in the organization. Must be able to develop written communications related to benefits or processes that convey the message in a simple but complete manner.
Major Customers
  • Benefits Managers, Shared Services, Labor Relations and M&A Team (as applicable). Employees indirectly.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years' Human Resources benefit plan experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' defined benefit plan pension experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Benefits Administration, or Business Administration/Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills and strong analytical skills required.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and the ability to create & utilize spreadsheets to support the work.
  • CEBS or ASPPA designations a plus.
