Job Description

This opening is in our Kawneer business which is located in Harrisonburg, VA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Purpose of Position:
This position provides a customer focused environment through supporting the Harrisonburg Front End Project Management team and customers with key back-end support in order transfers, creating quick quotes, checking order acknowledgements, processing sales tax credits, and other related administrative work. This position will also be groomed for future project management career paths.

Major activities/Key challenges:

  • Process order transfers for custom doors
  • Process replacement orders
  • Process credits and feedbacks
  • Maintain RFI / returned drawings schedule
  • Immediate help chain for current project managers and help with coverage for PM training, vacation/sick time
  • Customer service for a small group of customers
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education:
  • Familiarity with the construction business
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent but higher education preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with ability to quickly learn additional programs related to this position.
  • Timely and accurate data entry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships in a diverse work environment
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong customer focus and ownership in completing work and making deadlines
Major Customers:
This position interacts with project managers, plants, interdepartmental employees, customers and vendors.


Basic Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Comprehensive computer experience
  • Customer Service experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Familiarity with the construction industry
