This opening is in our Arconic Architectural Products business. We are the leading manufacturer of an aluminum composite material known as Reynobond. Reynobond is primarily used in the commercial construction industry. Arconic Architectural Products(AAP) is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Assistant Controller is responsible to take ownership and execution of daily reporting systems and Daily management activities with plant and operations. Manufacturing accounting functions including variance analysis, ensuring proper valuation of inventory and cost of sales for products shipped.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Key responsibilities include: Accounts Payable, Month end closing, reporting, and forecasting;
  • Compare performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required;
  • Prepare and submit capital project appropriation requests for approval and perform capital reporting as required;
  • Assist & Support payroll system in conjunction with Human Resources;
  • Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage provide security over financial information and its distribution;
  • Oversee Cash Management function including monitor credit and collection applications. Approve terms above a predetermined dollar amount;
  • Assist Marketing in establishing and maintaining product pricing policies;
  • Support quality certification programs and “cost-of-quality” reporting;
  • Implement and facilitate corporate purchasing guidelines for all locations and departments;
  • Oversee all purchasing functions emphasizing cost control, inventory minimization, vendor/supplier stocking and consignment activities;
  • Provide other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities;
  • Establish and implement a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan;
  • Financial analysis in support of growth opportunities and on-going commercial issues.

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:

  • Compliance with all facets of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act as coordinated by Arconic Corporate;
  • Implementation and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures as directed by Arconic Corporate (Self Assessments, Trend Tracker, etc.) including interpretation and administer corporate policy and applicable laws and regulations;
  • Integrity of the financial statements through the Monthly Financial Closing in accordance with Arconic Corporate requirement;
  • Financial Forecasting for including annual budget preparation oversight and monthly review. Assist in establishing performance measures and reporting results against benchmarks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting and / or finance role;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting and / or finance role in a manufacturing environment;
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and / or management experience;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with JD Edwards, Oracle, Hyperion and / or Discoverer;
  • Experience with Advanced features in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Minimum of 2 experience with cost accounting (standard cost, investigate work orders variances (price and materials variances);
  • Minimum of 2 experience in FP&A (forecast preparation, budget tracking and reporting);
  • Possess CPA and / or CMA.
