Job Description

The Assistant Controller – Lafayette position reports to the Location Controller and is a strategic business partner to the Location Manager of Lafayette/Halethorpe and the Plant Managers within Lafayette operation (Ingot, Extrusion, Aluminum Lithium and Tube Mill). The position is primarily responsible for all functional accounting and control activities for Lafayette/Halethorpe Operations. The Assistant Controller will oversee plant level forecasting, planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions and develop and manage processes to ensure compliance with the Arconic Self Assessment Tool (ASAT) and additional internal audit requirements.

Major activities/Key Challenges
  • Practical experience with Oracle and Hyperion strongly preferred
  • Posses an advance skill set in Excel
  • Act as a business partner to the Lafayette Controller and Lead Team• Help drive business performance improvement in profitability, productivity, and cash flow
  • Provide planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions and develops and manages processes to ensure compliance with Arconic Self Assessment Tool (ASAT) and other internal audit requirements, as well as US GAAP and Arconic report requirements.
Understand, review, and communicate key drivers for each location/plant’s success, including efforts to manage down working capital while maintaining location stability
  • Drive engagement to financials of the operations
  • Create and monitor internal controls that allow operations to meet the financial plan
  • Liaison with Business Unit finance functional teams and Financial Shared Services
  • Insure strict adherence to Arconic code of conduct and corporate policy
  • Oversee location performance pay plans
  • Support development and deployment of standardized tools/reports to facilitate operations to meet key financial goals and cost management efforts
  • Drive continuous improvement and process simplification through Arconic Business System (ABS) principles and guidelines
  • Lead special projects as requested


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications : •Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
•Minimum of 5 years of financial experience
•This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications : •Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial leadership role.
•Minimum of 7 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment or a financial institution.
•MBA from an accredited institution is a plus.
•CPA or comparable professional certification is a plus.
•Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experiences a plus
•Metals industry is a plus.
•Cost accounting experience preferred
•Experience working with Oracle and Hyperion or other comparable ERP package
