Job Description

Arconic is seeking to fill the Assistant Controller position at its Washington, Missouri plant. The Assistant Controller is primarily responsible for day to day management of the Accounting Department.  Supervises Staff Accountant and Accounting Specialist.  Provides extensive analytical support and research necessary to support Unit, Corporate and SEC reporting requirements.  This position plays also plays a critical role in the Unit’s Sarbanes Oxley internal control reporting processes.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Captures SAP revenue and cost data and reports same on various summarization levels such a customer, program and product line;
  • Captures and reports payroll hours and reports on same at various summarization levels such as business unit, work center and cost center;
  • Assists Controller in the development, review and entry of periodic forecasts, AOP and LRP;
  • Monitors, costs and reports costs related to scrap and other cost of quality parameters
  • Loads monthly financial statements from WFO’s SAP ERP system to ATEP’s Hyperion based financial consolidation system and Arconic’s FAST Hyperion reporting system;
  • Calculates and reports monthly intercompany gross profit and inventory balances;
  • Reconciles SAP COPA revenue & cost data to FI adjustments, revenue & direct cost lines;
  • Reports and monitors unit backlog data via RTI’s Business Warehouse reporting package;
  • Performs monthly control procedures to ensure compliance with Company, Unit and regulatory financial reporting control requirements, including GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley;
  • Reviews SAP Cost, Revenue and Margin data to ensure proper matching of cost against related revenue in proper accounting period;
  • Reviews KE30/KE24 cost reports and makes appropriate standard cost changes or journal entries to ensure proper matching;
  • Provides support on an as needed basis for financial and control audits for both internal and external auditors;
  • Works closely with Controller to develop and load annual budget information by relevant cost centers;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Experience with extracting and cleaning data from multiple sources including SAP, BW and Hyperion;
  • Knowledge in the development of controlling mechanisms and in the accounting, per Arconic US-GAAP;
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills;
  • Hands on experience with Hyperion HFM data loading and extraction.
