Position Description:
A Master Black Belt oversees the creation and implementation of a Six Sigma strategy for AEN in collaboration with the leadership team. The overall goal of this position is to maximize output while minimizing cost. The individual will work with the company’s leaders and other stakeholders to determine specific goals and lead the Six Sigma teams toward reaching them. Essentially, a Master Black Belt creates the path for the rest of the Six Sigma team to follow.
This position is accountable to provide technical leadership, training and development of Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts in helping the operations to achieve cost effective results using Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Achieves annual DI goals that are planned in collaboration with the plants leadership team.
  • Provides technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to assigned Six Sigma Black Belts, Green Belts or other personnel as part of their project management and personal development.
  • Conducts training and education for new Black Belts, Green Belts and Champions as needed by the organization
  • Verifies that DMAIC and continuous improvement methodologies and tools are being properly applied to projects.
  • Consults on projects about project direction, financial and quality improvement opportunities and suitability as a Six Sigma project.
  • Works with plants or departments to ensure Continuous Improvement goals are being met.
  • Stays current with Company Continuous Improvement initiatives and new process and quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Collaborates with organizational leaders, process owners, and other Black Belts to develop and evolve Six Sigma, training materials, classes, workshops, tools and methods.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Drives improvement to DI metrics. Coaches Six Sigma Black Belts, Green Belts and leadership in how to convert gaps in performance into process improvement projects with breakthrough results. .
  • In conjunction with the Leadership Institute and Project Champions, certifies Black Belts.
  • Assists leaders in the identification of project opportunities and Six Sigma Green and Black Belt candidates.
  • Shares “best practices” throughout the Company and monitors projects for opportunities for cross-collaboration.
  • Reviews project status with assigned Green Belts, Black Belts and Champions and provides counsel and advice on the use of Six Sigma tools and methodology.
  • Assures assigned Sigma Black Belts are kept informed of new development and approaches in Six Sigma methodology.
  • Looks for opportunities to recognize and publicize the accomplishments of assigned Six Sigma projects.
  • May lead projects independently or with the help of other Six Sigma Black Belt(s).


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 10 years of Investment Casting Experience;
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Must become certified MBB within 12 months);
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics or the Sciences from an accredited institution;
  • Coach others where they can influence the behavior and skills of others while not taking the authority or confidence away from those whom they coach.
  • Derives personal satisfaction from the success of others rather than or in healthy balance with their own individual accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • The capacity to teach others and be approachable, helpful and supportive to Lean Six Sigma Black Belts and leadership.
  • Advanced Technical Degree
