Job Description

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Additive Manufacturing Lead, will operate, maintain and teach Arconic’s 3D metal printing Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) equipment and provide technical observations, recommendations, and guidance in support of Arconic aerospace production and R&D product development projects.
 
• Set-up and execution of Additive Manufacturing builds on specific equipment and process types to meet customer requirements for dimensional accuracy, porosity, cracking, and overall quality
 
• Hands-on alloy welding wire handling including transportation, loading and feeding
 
• Adherence to and development of safe work practices for all tasks
 
• Ability to independently take an incoming CAD file and generate all necessary build files and execute build
 
• Machine maintenance and cleaning
 
• Documentation of build parameters, conditions, outcomes, and technical observations and recommendations to customers to resolve encountered issues
 
• Use of quality control tools and techniques in a manufacturing environment including SPC, Control charts, etc. to analyze data, make observations, draw conclusions, and implement fixes based on findings
 
 • Monitor in-progress builds for quality deviations and implement real-time process changes to ensure successful builds
 
 • Interact with and provide technical guidance to customers and project leads to ensure an understanding of their requirements and efficient process and product development
 
 • Maintain traceability of all weld wire and parts
 
• Actively participate in housekeeping efforts by maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe work area

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
 • Associates Degree from an accredited institution
 • Minimum 2 years of technician experience in Additive Manufacturing or Robotic Welding or CNC Programming
• Ability to work and interact effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team atmosphere.
• Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
 • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, employee relations, quality, productivity and cost.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• CNC experience a plus
• Able to read, edit, and write G-code
• AM Research, development or production experience
• CAD experience via SolidWorks, Autodesk, NX, etc.
 • Quality Awareness, SPC, Quality Control
• Hands-on experience with AM programming
