Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is looking for an Accounting Manager for our aerospace manufacturing facility Torrance, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
Our Accounting Manager will oversee financial reporting and day to day operations of the Finance Department.  Supervise, coordinate and perform when necessary, activities of the general and cost accounting staff.  Work with Controller to plan, develop and establish accounting policies and objectives.  Establish, modify and coordinate implementation of SOX compliant accounting practices and accounting control procedures. Hands on resolution of accounting, finance, and operational issues.
 
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel: creating and updating spreadsheets and formulas, VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, etc.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an accounting, finance or auditing role;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited Institution;
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Training / facilitation experience;
  • Experience with SOX assessment tools, audits and tax packages;
  • Understanding of inventory systems, cost accounting, financial reporting budgeting, forecasting and manufacturing systems from a cost perspective.
