Job Description

Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for an Accountant for our aerospace manufacturing plant in Tucson, AZ.

The Accountant organizes and directs accounting activities; assists the Controller in business planning activities; maintains accounting systems that ensure the proper accounting and recording of company resources; provides financial statements, analysis, and other key management reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitors current department accounting systems and procedures and revises as required. Assures appropriate documentation of the system is maintained.
  • Oversees and prepares month end closing entries. Prepares monthly financial reporting and performs analysis.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports as required and assists the Controller in analyzing the data to report status of the operation.
  • Ensures that all necessary supporting documentation of financial statements, tax returns and other information as necessary is maintained.
  • Prepares financial reports as required by corporate headquarters.
  • Verifies support schedules to general ledger control accounts and reconciles accounts as required.
  • Processes payroll, accounts payables and other related data.
  • Identifies additions or deletions to accounts in general ledger to improve control.
  • Assures fixed asset physical control and product inventory physical control with appropriate accounting entries for reconciliation of records.
  • Accountable for payroll preparation, overview, processing and reporting for all employees. Responds to questions from employees related to pay calculations and procedures.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports a required and assists the department in analyzing the data.
  • Assists with month-end closing. Helps with the preparation of monthly financial reporting and performs journal preparation, entry and analysis. Reconciles vacation accrual account and prepares vacation accrual entry monthly.
  • Administers the royalty agreements, sales tax analysis and calculations within corporate guidelines
  • Prepares required governmental reports and responds to inquiries as needed.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports as required.
  • Coordinates and supports year-end audit review for audit staff.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in the profession. Make recommendations for implementation.
  • Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
  • Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
  • Adheres to Arconic EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum 2 years of Accounting experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.







Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting or Finance experience in Manufacturing
  • Prefer 3+ years of Accounting experience
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP); experience with Tableau
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • General Ledger experience
  • Compliance/audit experience
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, QAD)
  • Experience with preparing journal entries and with account reconciliation
  • Knowledge of inventory systems valuations and controls
  • Experience with shop floor cost and budget variances analysis
