Job Description

Work is performed throughout a heavy industrial facility. Potential hazards include high heat applications, proximity of moving machinery, noise, heavy lifting, working at heights, in pits and in confined spaces. Will perform routine service, setups, adjustments, installations, repairs and modifications/upgrades to production & facility equipment. Will understand and interpret ladder logic and utilize PLC’s as a troubleshooting tool. Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic circuits utilizing various test equipment such as multi-meters, amp probes etc. Will repair and troubleshooting variable frequency drives and AC/DC drives as well as motors. Will be using predictive/preventive maintenance to ensure plant reliability & safety. Will interpret plant power system electrical/electronic schematics in order to make repairs and maintain equipment. Understands and follows lockout/tag out, fall protection, confined space and other safety related procedures. Will perform mechanical maintenance duties as needed. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Proficient at using hand tools, portable electric tools & typical shop stationary equipment. Work with operations to resolve issues in a timely manner. Work with little supervision to complete work on time. Complete required daily paperwork and make computer entries. Capable of and will operate production equipment as required or needed. Will contribute to improvements to maintenance program.

Basic Qualifications

Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent experience of at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment; Must be able to read and utilize blueprints and electrical schematics; Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship. Ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely and follow safety practices and regulations. Must be willing and able to work any shift in a 24/7 operation and overtime including weekends and holidays. Ability to lift at least 50lbs as needed. Must have basic computer skills to create work orders, complete work orders, plan work, identify parts, and locate spare parts using a computerized maintenance management system. Must be able to legally operate company motor vehicles and possess a valid driver’s license. Strong teamwork, communication, reading and comprehension skills required. The position requires an individual to stand, climb, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift up to 100 lbs. for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes FR9 clothing, safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toed boots with metatarsal protection, hearing protection and other safety equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years experience with PLC’s (Allen-Bradley PLC’s including ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000); Low voltage controls; 3 phase power distribution up to 35KV; Variable frequency drives, AC/DC drives; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Basic mechanical; PLC programming experience; Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP; Experience with combustible furnaces. Military electronics training a plus.
